Miss Moonshine’s, Auckland

Hidden away down an alley off Ponsonby Road is Miss Moonshine’s, serving street-style food hot off the grill. Slow cooking, wood smoking, quality New Zealand meat. What more do you need? If you’re a fan of a BBQ, but fancy a bit more class, this is your spot.

The Fat Tui, Marahau (Abel Tasman)

If you want to have the best burger you’ve ever tasted (who doesn’t), head to Fat Tui. With heaps of gourmet burger options to choose from (including vegan!) there’s something for everyone from this food truck style experience. They’re closed during winter though, so make sure to visit in summer!

Elliot Stables, Auckland

Although not strictly one restaurant, this fancy food court is well worth a visit. If you’re not sure what type of food you fancy, head here and take your pick, with more than 10 different restaurants and cuisines to choose from.

Atlas Beer Cafe, Queenstown

A favourite with locals and visitors alike, Atlas is an unpretentious bar, tucked away at the back of Steamer Wharf. This is the place to be in Queenstown for craft beers, lake views, great service, awesome coffee, amazing tapas, and famous steaks. It’s a small restaurant though, and they don’t take bookings, so enjoy a beer while you wait for a table!
